Information on the departure of the foreign nationals from the Czech Republic as of July 16, 2020

Dear students,

This message is intended for the expired short-term visa holders currently staying in the Czech Republic!

This is to inform you that those foreigners (third-country nationals) whose current residence permit in the Czech Republic has expired after March 12, 2020, must leave the Czech Republic by July 16, 2020, at the latest!

To ensure easier passage through other member states of the European Union, the Police of the Czech Republic marks a special stamp on the travel document. The stamp certifies the tolerance of the alien’s stay in the Czech Republic for the purpose of informing the other Member States of the European Union at the moment of transit through their territory. However, the stamp does not automatically allow entry into the territory of these states.

Therefore, if you are leaving the territory of the Czech Republic through other EU member states, it is recommended to come to the nearest Department of residence agendas of the Immigration Police before departure to mark the stamp:

  • Brno: Cejl 62b (Monday and Wednesday 8:00-17:00; Tuesday and Thursday 8:00-14:00)
  • Prague: Olšanská 2176/2 (Monday and Wednesday 8:00-17:00; Tuesday and Thursday 8:00-15:00)

Attention – the stamp is only used for leaving the territory of the Czech Republic. After marking the stamp, leave the territory of the Czech Republic within 24 hours, otherwise, you are exposed to an increased risk of punishment by other member states of the European Union, through which you will pass.

Foreigners who are unable to arrange travel by July 16, 2020, due to the absence of connections are strongly encouraged to apply to their embassy for repatriation. In case there is no repatriation possible, such foreigners should come to the nearest Department of residence agendas of the Immigration Police and submit the proof of the non-existence of travel connections (e.g. confirmation from the Embassy) before July 16, 2020. Foreigners that submit such confirmations after July 16, or do not show up at all will be treated by the Immigration Police as foreigners staying illegally in the territory!

Please follow the procedures outlined above carefully. For more information, please visit the Ministry of Interior website at https://www.mvcr.cz/mvcren/.

Best regards,

Flying Academy team
